This one is from Sherri, and leaves me without five people to tag, but I'm doing it anyway.
Standard disclaimer of "What the heck do you mean, one book?" applies.
1. One book that changed your life? Grapes of Wrath
I was thirteen when I read it and fell in love with Steinbeck's writing, plotting and characters.
2. One book you have read more than once? Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. Queries about religion, philosophy, eagles and villainy, all wrapped up in Pratchett's inimitable humor.
3. One book you would want on a desert island? Sisters in Crime, Vol. I. This was a really tough choice, but this one wins both from the number of stories, the fact that it's a mystery anthology, and the fact that there are a number of authors in here whose works I went on to read more of and very much enjoy.
4. One book that made you laugh? Smoke and Mirrors by Tanya Huff. A horror novel that scared me to death and yet made me laugh aloud on almost every page.
5. One book that made you cry? Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. Heartbreaking. I hate it when doggies die.
6. One book you wish had been written? I wish H. Beam Piper had lived long enough to write a few more Fuzzy books. :(
7. One book you wish had never been written? Anthem by Ayn Rand.
8. One book you are currently reading?
Guards, Guards! by Terry Pratchett. His usual humor overlaying standard fantasy plot and subplots.
9. One book you have been meaning to read? Dance of Death by P.N. Elrod. I've loved the rest of the series, just haven't been able to buy this one yet.

Twain's Huckleberry Finn. It changed my understanding of fiction entirely.
2. One book you have read more than once?
Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I never tire of the Bennet sisters.
3. One book you would want on a desert island?
Stephen King's The Stand: Complete and Uncut. Because if I'm going to be on a desert island, I want something that is of an epic scope, but also a bit of a guilty pleasure.
4. One book that made you laugh?
Sarah Vowell's The Partly Cloudy Patriot.
5. One book that made you cry?
A.S. Byatt's Possession. I cry every time I read it, but I still love it.
6. One book you wish had been written?
Something else by Charlotte Brontë. Jane Eyre is just about as good as it gets.
7. One book you wish had never been written?
Pick anything by Ann Coulter. I keep thinking that her clock is at 14:59, but she just won't go away.
8. One book you are currently reading?
Cornelia Read's A Field of Darkness. It's not that often that I pick a detective/mystery novel, but this one is quite good thus far.
9. One book you have been meaning to read?
Herman Melville's Moby-Dick. References to this classic are strewn throughout American culture, and I just feel utterly slack for never having read it.

Oh, quit being modest about the brains; you're no lightweight. After all, you probably figured out who finally got inspired to post here in about 2.5 seconds, if that.
Besides, my book reading may lean a little toward brain-frying, but I more than compensate with my love of trashy, cheesy, and often profanity-ridden television.
She who does not miss an episode of America's Next Top Model, Best Week Ever, or Reno 911! cannot harbor any illusions of intellectual superiority. At least not with a straight face.
