Cleveland Amory once said that only men could be curmudgeons. Fine. I've set out to be a curmudgeonette. I'm middle-aged, single, owned by a stubborn dog and so white bread all my clothes should say "Wonder." If it weren't for a few little quirks, I would be absolutely indistinguishable from other Midwestern females.

A light spring rain
A blue spring mood. Although I had a nice dinner with Doc last night, I am sad and irritated with myself for being sad today. I didn't get to go to Pittsburgh and see Imp & Bel & Dampy because my stupid car needs $220 worth of brake work, and I'm just sort of moping around. Pleh.

Well, crap.
*HUGS* sweetie.
Poor Jammies. That's disappointing. Just have to wait until Jammiefest.
You'll have sunshine again soon.
it's really too bad you live so far away, because John lives to do brakes. On the cheap.

Shitty. My recommendation is look into highschool auto shops in your area. I know the one at my school does work the cost of parts because they need tests for the senior kids - and school s get a discount on the parts. Everything gets checked over by the teacher. I had my brakes done last year (the whole shabang) for $80. Be thankful you don't drive a VW. JP had his brakes done at my school and it was still $480 - at a mechanic it was going to be $1000.
Six weeks to Mango!!!
I can second what canuck girl said. Years ago the local high school did the same thing for my parents - my father got a lot of good work done for parts and an occasional dozen donuts.....
