Omigoshomigoshomigosh!

Something incredibly cool and incredibly gross just happened!  Details after the jump for non-squeamish types.

Yesterday morning when I pulled out of my driveway I noticed a mostly-flat squirrel (ew!) in the road at the end of the driveway.  I called the city sanitation department and they said someone would go out and dispose of it.  I was not happy to come home and find flat squirrel about four feet away from the street inside my driveway, but I used my junk mail to shovel it off into the side yard.

Tonight, after I'd been home long enough to change out of my work clothes and have a cup of coffee, Little Miss Piggie Pie went absolutely bonkers barking at the yard.  I looked to see what was making her crazy and saw this:

Because I was shooting quickly, through the screen door, and using the zoom, I inadvertently got a few graphic pictures I'll spare you (I gagged when I got them off the camera).  The bird on the right ate the whole thing and the bird on the left eventually gave up and wandered off to find something else, but I HAD BUZZARDS IN MY FRONT YARD!

Just wow.

Maybe they are city employees? I imagine they work cheap.

Nah, no mullets and no tattoos. ;)

C'mon, if they were city employees, three of them would stand there watching one eat the squirrel. Pretty sure vultures don't hang with that.

Unless one's a greedy pig like Jammies' friend, of course. But I'm sure he wanted to help.

So jealous I could kill a squirrell to see the show.

Rob, you're right on both counts!

Your Majesty, even if you did kill a squirrel, would you know buzzards were near without a nearly hysterical dog alerting you?
